So-called hot then loves the Mother, cold then loves the Ding.
4. Modern Fate Analysis
Xin Metal belongs to Yin Metal; its temperament is gentle, refined, and elegant; it emphasizes harmony rather than forceful attack.
Compared with Geng Metal's rigidity, Xin Metal resembles refined metal, beautiful jade, and vessels.
Fear of Earth stacking: Wu and Ji Earth are too heavy, easily bury Xin Metal, causing it to lose its luster and value.
Liking Water's abundance: Water can moisten soil and nourish metal, making Xin Metal bright and beautiful.
Can support the state and save lives: Xin Metal is good at balancing Fire and Wood, mediating conflicts; in charts it often appears as assisting, coordinating, and maintaining order.
Hot then loves the Mother: In times of strong fire, one needs Ji Earth to suppress the fire to preserve the metal;
Cold then loves Ding: In periods of cold water, rely on Ding Fire to warm and nourish, so that Xin Metal is neither cold nor brittle.
Overall, the value of Xin Metal lies in obtaining its润 (moisture) and its balance; when the Five Elements are harmonized, it is bright without being weak, soft but not wasteful.
